Winter Short

Fall and Winter styles give us an excuse to wear multiple amazing pieces together. We just didn't have enough to layer, so we're excited about all the winter short options out there. Tailored wool shorts look great over printed and opaque tights with flats. If your feeling brave, skip the tights and wear with a chunky sweater, thick socks and knee high boots.

Shearling

This week the New York Times called our attention to all the shearling that's been popping up in women's accessories. We're definitely into the Jerome Dreyfuss and Miu Miu bags, and Viktor and Rolf shearling covered booties. Gotta say though, shearling in coats is a classic not to to be outdone by accessory counterparts. Here is an oversized shearling coat by Antonio Berardi and French Label Rizal's latest ad campaign.

The Gatsby Influence

Accessories are gearing up in anticipation of Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby. Tiffany's has jumped on board to shower star Carey Mulligan in diamonds and pearls for the film. Great headbands, caps and statement jewelry epitomize the Gatsby look. The influence isn't limited to fashion. Rugby style recently feature the Gatsby ninetendo game right next to a Gatsby inspired fashion party!

Seeing Stars

Everyone loves an ironic or cute print here and there. Typically stars would fall in the same category as tiny heart prints and little sketched animals. The stars gracing recent designs are anything but cute. Stars shimmer and shine on accessories. They gracefully cover gowns on runways and magazine covers and they translate into sophisticated feminine looks.

     Floral trousers were all over the Spring 12 runways. Glamour magazine thinks that you shouldn't wait until Spring to start wearing this trend. I agree! Throw on a cashmere cardi and a structured suede bag to winterize oversized bouquet flowers.
